Spanish giants Real Madrid was at the receiving end of a shocking loss at the hands of CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night. The result is a continuation of a dismal run of results that has seen Madrid claim just two wins in their last five games in all competition.
CSKA got of two an early start by scoring just two minutes into the match when Everton loanee Nikola Vlasic latched to an error pass by Toni Kroos to give the home side an early lead.
Los Blancos were without Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos, the Welsh attacker and Spanish defender where out injured along with Isco and Marcelo.
Real Madrid mounted wave upon wave of attacks, and wasted several chances in the first half. Casemiro could have levelled in the opening period, but his low shot bounced off the woodwork with Benzema also seeing his header hit the rebound of the woodwork just before halftime.
Modric came on for Casemiro in the second half but could not influence the game positively in anyway.
Real Madrid find themselves third in Group G after two matches while CSKA are currently top of the group.
